The detail
Western red cedar for lightness through the shaft, white ash down the spine and around the blade tip for the strength where it takes the abuse.
Each one is shaped and finished by hand, which is why the grain is different on every paddle on the rack and why we cannot promise you a specific one.
A tung-oil finish rather than varnish — it will need re-oiling once a season, and in exchange it will not craze and peel the way varnish does after a few years in the sun.
